GIS Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team at the Pueblo of Sandia. As a GIS Intern, you will assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of geographic information related to environmental and other Tribal issues.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze GPS data in the field to support the Lands Department.
- Research and collect data from various sources, including Tribal, federal, state, and local governments, community organizations, and other agencies.
- Maintain active enrollment in post-high school coursework related to this internship.
- Assist in the generation of maps and reports, and present workshops, meetings, and seminars to educate community members on GIS, environmental, and other issues.
- Meet and confer with Tribal, federal, state, and local officials regarding GIS-related issues.
- Provide administrative support to other environment staff as assigned.
- Must be a high school senior planning to attend, or a student enrolled in a post-high school academic or vocational institution.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico driver's license.
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
The GIS Intern will work in a fast-paced environment and may be subject to seasonal extremes and inclement weather. The position requires normal dexterity while sitting and standing, as well as the ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
