Overview

We are in search of a seasoned professional to take on the position of Director of Tax at our headquarters. This pivotal role involves steering the company's tax strategy, ensuring compliance, and managing tax-related operations. The Director of Tax will play a crucial role in aligning tax strategies with the overall business objectives while leading a dedicated team of tax experts.

Key Responsibilities:Tax Strategy Development:
  1. Formulate and execute tax strategies aimed at reducing tax liabilities while ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws.
  2. Provide strategic tax guidance to senior leadership regarding the tax implications of business decisions.
  3. Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and devise responsive strategies.
  4. Analyze intercompany transactions to mitigate risks with tax and customs authorities.
Tax Compliance Oversight:
  1. Supervise the accurate preparation and timely submission of all tax returns.
  2. Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and reporting standards.
  3. Manage and respond to audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Tax Accounting and Reporting:
  1. Direct the tax accounting process, including tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
  2. Guarantee precise reporting of tax-related items in financial statements.
  3. Collaborate with the accounting department to maintain proper documentation for tax positions.
Leadership and Team Development:
  1. Guide and nurture the tax team, promoting a culture of professional growth and continuous improvement.
  2. Establish performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
  3. Oversee the recruitment and retention of tax personnel.
Risk Management:
  1. Identify and address tax risks through effective internal controls and policies.
  2. Ensure comprehensive documentation for tax positions and transactions.
  3. Keep informed of industry trends to maintain a robust tax risk management framework.
Collaboration and Communication:
  1. Engage with various departments (e.g., Legal, Finance, Operations) to provide tax insights on projects and transactions.
  2. Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants as necessary.
  3. Articulate complex tax matters to non-tax professionals, including senior management.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  2. Master's degree in accounting with a focus on Taxation is required.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of tax experience, including 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  4. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  5. Strong grasp of tax accounting principles and financial reporting.
  6. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective tax strategies.
  7. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in a similar role within a large corporation or public accounting firm.
  2. International tax expertise.
  3. Practical experience with Onesource Tax Provision and Onesource Income Tax software and SAP.
