Critical Care Nurse Practitioner

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a critical care nurse practitioner, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in our ICU setting. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, utilizing evidence-based practice and clinical judgment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct clinical services for critically ill patients, utilizing established protocols and evidence-based practice standards.
• Obtain comprehensive and focused history and physical exam on critically ill patients, synthesizing data to assess clinical scenario and prescribe appropriate interventions and medications.
• Evaluate critically ill patients in the ICU and step-down units, utilizing clinical judgment and evidence-based medicine to order and schedule appropriate laboratory and radiographic studies.
• Work with supervising physicians to determine and place appropriate specialty consultations, collaborating to formulate and implement plans for management of critically ill patients.
• Perform complex procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical problems, including but not limited to central venous catheter placement, arterial catheter placement, chest tube placement, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, paracentesis, endotracheal intubation, and therapeutic bronchoscopy.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program with a Master's degree and completion of a board certification, if graduated after July 2006.
• Current ARNP license in the state of Florida, with ACLS and BLS certification.
• Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) Certificate, or obtain the FCCS certification within 6 months of hire, if pre-approved by the Physician Director of Critical Care Services.
• 2 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in a critical care APP role, if graduated before July 2006 and without certification.
