Job Summary

Buckle is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant in Training. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and supporting the overall success of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Generation and Guest Service
    • Deliver legendary customer service by greeting guests with a friendly and engaging attitude
    • Utilize product knowledge to recommend and select merchandise based on guest needs and desires
    • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience
    • Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
    • Consistently meet or exceed personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by store management
  • Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
    • Recognize and capitalize on recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend
    • Coach and develop skills in new teammates to meet and achieve Buckle's accountability, shift orientation, Loss Prevention, and sales presentation standards
    • Maintain a positive attitude and create a positive floor culture
  • Visual Merchandise Management
    • Own and influence product through zone ownership, recognizing and assigning zones and projects to teammates daily with a specific learning goal in mind
    • Partner with store management to delegate, demonstrate, and review all 4 zones
    • Confirm teammates are following visual standards, visual library, and weekly visual checklist throughout their shift with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Operations
    • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, and holidays as needed
    • Utilize the planner, including completion of opening and closing checklists
    • Recognize and prevent security risks and thefts, and know how to handle these situations
    • Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines, including daily bag and purse checks
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a focus on customer service and sales growth
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teammates and management
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 30lbs throughout the store and backroom
