About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our innovative team at Green Street. Our cloud and mobile-based solutions are used for collecting and processing key retail and commercial high street data for the investment sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build innovative solutions that drive business growth.
  • Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to support front-end functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance back-end systems using C# and SQL, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems remain cutting-edge.
  • Work closely with a development team in London and California offshore development team members across various time zones.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or comparable experience.
  • Excellent programming skills with minimum 5 years of experience working with C# and SQL, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
  • Proven experience as a Back End Software Engineer, with a strong portfolio of projects.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proficiency in C# and SQL, with extensive experience in PostgreSQL.
  • Strong understanding of database management, optimization, and security.
  • Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A continuous learning mindset and a passion for staying current with new technologies.
  • Experience with other database systems and back-end technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Compensation: We offer an estimated salary range of $140,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
