Job Summary

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for assisting with new and existing customer sales, providing product support to outside sales representatives, and generating sales through telephone calls and customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, prices, and quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.
  • Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales and provide product information.
  • Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives, enter work orders, credit returns, return authorizations, pick tickets, and service requests, and file paperwork accordingly.
  • Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products, obtain information on pricing specifications, uses, and availability.
  • Manage schedules for projects by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
  • Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
  • Research credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
  • Check on back orders and resolve any outstanding issues, solve billing problems, and compile data for closing.
  • Handle special orders and advanced pricing, assist with pricing and special price lists.
  • Develop and grow professional relationships with customers.
  • Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems.
  • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1-3 years in building material industry with basic knowledge of product and application Required
  • 1-3 years inside sales experience Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate computer, calculator, and cash register.
  • Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry.
  • Good interpersonal and customer relations skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Should be familiar with inventory and inventory control.
  • Must be able to walk throughout yards, plants, and offices.
