Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Project Manager to join our team at the University of Michigan. As a key member of our Facilities Operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple projects related to facilities operations, ensuring timely completion, and meeting expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple projects related to facilities operations, including project planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including facilities planning and development, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on scheduling delays, equipment downtime, and scope changes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including leadership, procurement, and contractors, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures, and lead safety committee discussions and field activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, facilities management, or computer information systems.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, preferably in a facilities operations or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural disciplines.
  • Experience leading safety performance and implementing safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing drawings.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
