Job Overview

ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Corrections Specialist to provide community-based services to individuals with a history of sexual violence.

About the Role

This position involves providing monitoring checks at supervised residences, transportation to authorized activities, and other supervision services as needed.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain schedules and assignments of day-to-day tasks from the Scheduler.
  • Transport clients to activities.
  • Monitor client attitude, appearance, and behavior.
  • Complete required log entries and apartment checklists each monitoring check.
  • E nsure that clients observe program rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor the physical residence to ensure the health, safety, and security of clients, community, and property.
  • Document and report client violations to direct supervisor and DHS.
  • Provide informal guidance to clients on daily living activities and independent living skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience and/or education relating to corrections, criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social services, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Access to own vehicle for transporting clients.
  • Valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with staff, clients, and other parties in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and self-motivation.
  • High-level organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrated initiative and flexibility.
  • Experience enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in the use of automated computer systems and Microsoft Office, Word highly preferred.

Salary and Benefits

$20.00 per hour.
