The Recreation Center Operations & Membership Division is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Guest Services Worker at the Provo City Recreation Center. This is an opportunity to become part of a dynamic team while acquiring valuable skills. These positions are available on a part-time and seasonal basis.

Job Details

What is the compensation?
  • Starting at $11.00 per hour.
  • Employees who perform well may receive a $0.50 per hour pay increase every six months, up to a maximum of $13.00 per hour.

What will I do?
  • Manage front counter operations, concessions, special events, fitness areas, and child watch services.
  • Assist in crowd management.
  • Perform cashiering, food service, childcare, and related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Support office staff as needed and carry out additional tasks as required.

  • Relevant experience and/or training that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the job duties.
  • Quick learning ability.
  • Maintain a courteous demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Exhibit integrity, respect, and kindness towards colleagues, customers, and the public.
What are the hours? Schedule varies based on departmental needs, typically between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday, with a maximum of 25 hours per week. Employees will be expected to be flexible and fill in where necessary.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This position requires walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds, as well as sitting for extended periods at a computer. Applicants must possess the physical strength and agility necessary to perform the job duties.

What is the selection process? Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to be considered. If selected for hire, candidates will be required to successfully complete a drug screening and criminal background check. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in dismissal. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for employment with Provo City for a minimum of six months.
