About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineering Manager to join our team at Block. As a Firmware Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of firmware engineers to deliver high-quality firmware solutions for our products. Your team will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware for our embedded systems, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of firmware engineers to design, develop, and test firmware for our embedded systems.
  • Develop and maintain firmware development processes and procedures to ensure high-quality firmware delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, software engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of firmware with other system components.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, and technical notes.
  • Identify and prioritize firmware development tasks and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Ensure that firmware development is aligned with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in firmware development and management.
  • Strong technical skills in firmware development, including experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and firmware development tools.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of firmware engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing, and debugging.
