Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at IKO Southwest. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and Compliance
    • Identify and correct all unsafe conditions and conduct thorough safety assessments before starting work.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Troubleshoot, monitor, adjust, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the production facility.
    • Diagnose equipment operating issues and perform required repairs.
    • Replace pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other components as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work with other Mechanics and Electricians to resolve operational equipment issues.
    • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and overhead cranes when necessary.
  • Fabrication and Welding
    • Fabricate and weld tools or equipment as required.
    • Operate precision machine tools to make or repair parts.
  • Shift Work and Call-Outs
    • Work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
    • Be available for 24-hour call-outs, shift, weekend, and overtime work.
  • Accountability and Compliance
    • Ensure responsibility and accountability for adhering to all IKO rules, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance or a Certified Industrial Mechanic or Millwright.
    • Minimum of five years of maintenance experience in a plant setting.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proven experience working in and maintaining a safe work environment with intimate knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safe practices.
    • Excellent working knowledge of hand tools and maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to properly disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble complex mechanical devices.
    • Ability to fabricate simple parts for corrective maintenance.
    • Ability to read and understand detailed repair and instruction manuals.
    • Proficiency in computer-based maintenance software.
    • Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds on a routine basis.
    • Ability to access equipment for repair and maintenance, which may require crawling, bending, lying underneath equipment, or crouching.
    • Excellent manual dexterity.
