We are seeking a highly motivated and process-oriented Laser Operator to join our team at an industry leading metal identification solutions provider in North Kansas City. As a Laser Operator, you will gain product, industry, and process knowledge through a combination of direct mentoring and hands-on experience.
The successful candidate will operate a Coherent or IPG Laser, fabricating both stainless steel and aluminum plates. This position is on night shift, Monday through Thursday, 8 PM to 6:30 am.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read a job ticket and follow the process steps.
- Participate in Daily Continuous Improvement.
- Cross train in other key skills throughout the production facility as opportunity and your ability to learn merit.
- Locate and open a fabrication program on the server.
- Perform a First Article Inspection.
- Loading and Unloading metal flats from a Coherent Laser.
- Tap out, buff, weigh count and shrink wrap individual parts.
Requirements:
- Must be teachable.
- Good mechanical, computer and math skills.
- Candidate must be willing and able to learn other tasks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Be flexible and adept at working as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
