We are currently seeking an experienced Laser and CNC Operator for our Night shift (Mon - Thur, 8 PM - 6:30 am, 10 hr shifts with some overtime). This individual will be responsible for achieving production targets, meeting quality specifications, and operating safely while operating a variety of equipment (laser etching, cutting, CNC cutting, robotic stacking, and more.) The position will also maintain equipment, supplies, and quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. This includes aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto the machine.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
  • Read specific job tickets and follow all process steps.
  • Locate and open fabrication programs on the server.
  • Participate in daily continuous improvement processes.
  • Perform First Article inspections per training and processes.
  • Load and unload metal flats from equipment.
  • Tap out, buff, weigh count, and wrap/package individual parts according to job tickets.
  • Use skills to protect against potential damage to all machines, which include Coherent and IPG lasers and a variety of CNC machines.
  • Share expertise and knowledge throughout the machine shop and be a focal point for advice on machine operations. Assist in the progression of training and planned development of all machinists.
  • Always follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 3 years machining experience with advanced knowledge of machining operations and tolerances preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering plans, procedure manuals and work instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of math, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Understanding of computers and G-Code programming.
  • Must be flexible and adept at working as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be teachable, willing, and able to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
