Power Transmission Project Engineer

This opportunity provides a hybrid work model, allowing you to balance office presence with remote work. You will engage in various aspects of transmission line engineering, focusing on conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles to:
- Design transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
- Conduct cost analyses, develop design criteria, and manage routing and siting of transmission lines.
- Perform conductor selection studies, as well as shielding, grounding, and induction assessments.
- Collaborate with vendors and clients to specify components for transmission lines.
- Lead a small project team effectively.
This role also offers the chance to:
- Work alongside seasoned engineers and mentor junior staff.
- Engage with a diverse client base and collaborate with various project teams.
- Occasionally travel for site inspections and client consultations.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates for upcoming projects.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- A degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD software for reviewing transmission line models.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project teams, managing schedules and budgets for diverse transmission projects, including design, cost estimation, and specification preparation.
- Ability to verify right-of-way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and review transmission line plans and construction documents.
- Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles for creating technical plans and models.
- Experience in documenting engineering calculations.
- Knowledge of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Possession of a current PE license or the ability to obtain one within a year.
- Experience in developing engineering proposals and cost estimates.
- Experience with project scheduling.
- Familiarity with software such as PLS-TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
