Job Summary
Sonographers at Facility Southern Maine Health Care utilize their clinical and technical knowledge to obtain high-quality sonographic images and detailed patient information for accurate radiologist interpretation. Responsibilities include performing adult general and high-risk obstetric exams, floating to Biddeford and/or Sanford locations as needed, and promoting a smooth patient flow.Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 8pm-6:30amRequirements
Education: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, procedures, and equipment acquired through completion of an approved AMA school of ultrasound. Graduation from an AMA-approved school of ultrasound is preferred.License/Certifications: RDMS required within 15 months of hire date, BLS required.Experience: OB ultrasound experience is preferred.Strong analytical ability to identify and characterize pathology, image pathology, and identify areas requiring further testing.Participates in continuing education to maintain and enhance expertise.Strong interpersonal skills are essential.Must be able to take call and respond within 45 minutes, flex based on department volumes/demands, and work weekends and holidays.-
