Position Overview:

The Advanced Practice Provider in Gastroenterology will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions. This role involves conducting thorough history and physical assessments, as well as ordering and interpreting necessary diagnostic evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed patient evaluations and create tailored treatment strategies for various gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Educate patients and their families about disease management, prevention strategies, and necessary lifestyle changes.
  • Engage in quality enhancement projects, contribute to research initiatives, and pursue ongoing professional growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • This position operates on a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Illinois licensure as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
  • Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Preferred: A minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in gastroenterology or a closely related area.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required within the region.
