Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team at Axelon. As a Pediatric Oncology Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to children with cancer and blood disorders. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, provide education to patients and families, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to children with cancer and blood disorders, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring vital signs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement policies and procedures related to pediatric oncology care.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New York.
• 2+ years of experience in pediatric oncology or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field.
• Certification in pediatric oncology nursing (CPON) or a related field.
• Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology systems.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
