Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
• Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and social development
• Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and portfolios
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive community
• Participate in professional development training to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
• Master's degree in subject matter field or Education preferred
• Current California teaching credential in the appropriate field
• 1+ years of teaching experience
• Strong knowledge of subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Alignment with PUC Schools' core values: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticity
Compensation and Benefits
• This is a temporary, hourly position
• Hourly substitute teaching rate: $30/hr
• Hourly substitute teaching rate for planning and grading: $37/hr
• Eligible for California Sick Time
