As a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Specialist at TransForce, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet. This position involves working on Class 8 heavy vehicles and various mechanical systems, contributing to our commitment to excellence in service and operations.
Shift Details:
This is an Afternoon Shift position from 3 PM to 12 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a diverse range of heavy vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the fleet.
- Complete necessary documentation and reports related to maintenance activities.
- Order parts and maintain your own suitable work tools, while utilizing company-provided specialty tools.
Qualifications:
- Maintain required certifications to perform job duties effectively.
- Experience with mechanical systems related to heavy vehicles, including hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components as needed.
- Utilize hoists and hand tools for dismantling and reassembling equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.
- Read and interpret operating manuals and technical drawings.
- Adhere to good housekeeping practices in the work environment.
- Maintain a clean driving record for potential company vehicle operation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills and learn company-specific applications.
- Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Possess a Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational or technical training in diesel or heavy equipment maintenance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
- CDL Class B or higher preferred, required within six months of employment.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving:
- Able to identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Capable of interpreting various instructions and regulations.
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting technical information.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include the ability to communicate effectively, operate machinery, and work in various environmental conditions. Candidates must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and various weather conditions while performing their duties. The noise level may vary, and safety precautions are essential.
