Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Ryder in Bridgeport, CT. As a Senior Level Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities:

Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics and repairs.
Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
Replaces defective components as instructed.
Performs facility maintenance duties and interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
Basic tools, required.
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
All other certification as required by location, required.

Additional Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

What We Offer:

Competitive hourly pay rate of $33.21 per hour.
Sign on bonus of $3500, paid in two installments of $1750 at 30 days and 90 days.
Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700.
Quarterly bonus of up to $500, paid four times per year.
Tool allowance of $500 annually.
Monday to Friday schedule, with weekends off.
First shift hours, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
On the job paid training.
