Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at UCP-Personnel Services. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for performing installation and restoration work on our clients' electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry standard equipment and parts with you at all times.
  • Perform inspections, conduct assessments, and liaise with clients to identify issues that require attention.
  • Select, install, and maintain the functionality of wires, plugs, panelboards, switchgear, switchboards, and similar.
  • Set up and maintain electrical machines.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure an adequate stock and facilitate the ordering of needed electrical components.
  • Log time and resources spent on each task to calculate costs.
  • Lead compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant safety regulations.
  • Provide professional, friendly, and prompt services, commuting between locations as needed.
  • Interpret technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty wiring.
  • Run tests on generators and other backup systems.
  • Check for and deploy upgrades of electrical components.
  • Document problems and prepare reports.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed a 4-year apprenticeship program.
  • Valid state license that permits you to practice as a journeyman electrician.
  • Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, wiring schematics.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and good arithmetic skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skill, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observant and thorough.
  • An active listener with top-notch verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in constricted areas.
  • Relevant hands-on experience.
