Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Certified Health Care Associate to join our team.
About the JobThe starting rate of this union position is $23.71/hour. As a Certified Health Care Associate, you will provide resident care under the direction of the Charge Nurse and assist the nursing team in maintaining the nursing and resident units.
You will be responsible for providing personal care such as bathing, showering, oral hygiene, hair care, skin care, nail care, monitoring intake and output, toileting, etc. You will also assist in serving and feeding residents, requiring lifting trays up to 10 pounds.
Your duties will include assisting with restorative nursing procedures: range of motion, transferring, positioning, etc. You will assist residents to the bathroom as necessary and answer call lights promptly to provide or obtain the necessary care.
You will observe and report unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, injuries, and unusual behavior to the Charge Nurse. You will apply and release ordered restraints in a safe manner and assist in moving, supporting, and transporting residents using the resident lift when indicated.
Additionally, you will encourage residents to participate in physical, social, and recreational activities and assist in maintaining their belongings and immediate environment.
As a Certified Health Care Associate, you will take vital signs and report any changes to the Charge Nurse. You will record all aspects of personal care including bathing, food intake, ambulation activities, elimination, and vital signs.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant training and evaluation program.
- A membership in good standing on the Pennsylvania Department of Health Nursing Assistant Registry.
- A Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) check without prohibitive offenses as cited in Act 14.
- Age requirement: at least 18 years old.
