Position Overview:

The eSpelman Cosmetic Science Program is seeking applications for a part-time lecturer pool. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to instruct undergraduate courses in cosmetic science, utilizing asynchronous teaching methods and demonstrating proficiency in online education. The role requires the creation of compelling educational content tailored for non-traditional learners.

Courses offered may include, but are not limited to:

• Foundations in Cosmetic Science

• Molecules of Life for Cosmetics

• Toxicology and Regulations for Cosmetic Science

• Natural Products in Fragrance Formulation

• Make-up for Film and Theater

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction in the designated subject area, adapting methodologies to suit adult learners and effectively communicating complex concepts.

• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes.

• Encourage active participation from students in all facets of the educational experience.

• Foster a collaborative online learning community among students.

• Contribute to the development of new course materials and curricula.

• Assist in the evaluation of course effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and program assessments.

• Commit to ongoing professional development through participation in conferences, workshops, and scholarly activities.

• Engage in eSpelman meetings, orientations, and training sessions, maintaining a connection with the broader academic community.

• Fulfill record-keeping responsibilities in accordance with institutional policies, including grades and attendance.

• Perform additional duties as specified in the teaching agreement.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to chemistry or cosmetic sciences is required at the time of application.
