As a PRN Pharmacist at Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, you will work on an as-needed basis performing standard pharmacist duties in a closed-door setting.

You will be responsible for providing coverage in times of high demand or when regular pharmacists are on paid leave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow processes, including pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
  • Review medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness.
  • Comply with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the Illinois State Boards of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Perform all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
  • Maintain required licenses or certifications in good standing.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; three years preferred.
  • Must possess a Illinois State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
  • Order Entry experience is required.
  • Minimal typing speed of 40WPM preferred.
  • Medical Records experience preferred.
  • Experience with FrameworkLTC preferred.
  • Positive personality who can work well within a team.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Can de-escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.
