About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in promoting and restoring patients' cardiovascular health.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Perform various roles in the Cath Lab setting, including primary assistant to the cardiologist, circulating, and monitoring.
  • Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure education to patients and families, utilizing visual aids and teach-back techniques as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and adhere to all safety practices, including ALARA principles, while performing duties.
  • Conduct and participate in procedural Time Outs and proper patient identification.
  • Assess the need for additional safety measures and promote the development, preparation, and implementation of departmental goals and policies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current Radiologic Technologist certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Permit to Practice from the Iowa Dept. of Public Health, Bureau of Radiological Health.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • ACLS certified within 1 year.
