Construction Project Manager

Mullins Mechanical & Welding is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, management, and storage of all project documentation.
You will actively participate in project hand-off meetings to ensure important job information is gathered before proceeding into the construction phase. Additionally, you will assist the Project Manager in preparing the construction budget and developing and managing the construction schedule.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and writing subcontracts and purchase orders as requested
- Contractually and collaboratively managing subcontractors and their related performance
- Collecting, organizing, and distributing materials and equipment submittals as required
- Creating and distributing RFI's for clarification of project specifics
- Working with the Project Manager and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Pricing, negotiating, and formalizing all changes in project scope
- Working closely with Superintendents on their requests for resources, materials, equipment, etc.
- Managing safety, quality, and productivity of the project
- Ensuring the jobsite remains clean and orderly
Requirements:
- Previous professional experience in project management or a BS/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field
- PMP, CCM, or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset
- OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR Training
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage time with a strong understanding of priorities in each phase of construction
- Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
- Ability to work collaboratively and plan ahead
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Highly organized
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards
- Understanding of construction management processes
- Familiarity with construction and project management software programs
- High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
Mullins Mechanical & Welding is a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in design-build applications, HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping systems, boiler and chiller systems, equipment installation and rigging, plant relocation and maintenance, and metal fabrication. Our projects are often in industrial and manufacturing environments such as manufacturing facilities, automotive plants, chemical plants, distribution centers, warehouses, and other large commercial facilities.
