Bolthouse Fresh Foods, a prominent player in the carrot production industry, operates under the umbrella of Butterfly Equity. Our headquarters are located in the heart of California's Central Valley, and we are dedicated to providing high-quality products to both retail and food service sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Maintenance Mechanic will undertake a variety of tasks including:

  • Diagnosing mechanical and operational issues on designated equipment and planning corrective measures.
  • Implementing necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
  • Conducting tests on machinery to ensure proper functionality.
  • Clearing equipment jams and preparing products for quality inspection.
  • Testing machinery post-repair or after significant downtime to confirm operational readiness.
  • Measuring and recording product quality specifications using appropriate tools and instruments.
  • Performing preventive maintenance checks and inspections, reporting findings to the supervisor.
  • Identifying defects and analyzing causes of spoilage to implement corrective actions.
  • Documenting production delays and their causes in daily reports.
  • Communicating recurring equipment issues to the maintenance team or supervisor.
  • Training and guiding maintenance trainees as assigned.
  • Inspecting machinery for unusual sounds or performance issues.
  • Repairing machinery in cold storage environments.
  • Dismantling faulty machines and installing new or refurbished components.
  • Maintaining and lubricating machinery parts.
  • Assembling and maintaining piping systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repairing and replacing gauges, valves, and other related components.
  • Utilizing cutting torches or welding equipment for metalwork.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years in a related field.
  • Valid California Driver's License.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts on a continuous seven-day cycle.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in task completion.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and trade-specific equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend technical manuals and equipment documentation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exposure to wet and humid environments.
  • Interaction with moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.

WORK SCHEDULE:

3rd Shift - 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM; overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational needs.
