Job Title: Relief Valve Process Engineer

Burrow Global is seeking a skilled Relief Valve Process Engineer to join our team in Beaumont, Texas. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in supporting project phases, with a strong emphasis on front-end engineering and detailed design support.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform process engineering assignments, applying chemical engineering principles to ensure seamless coordination and effective communication among engineering disciplines and clients.
  • Conduct audits of relief valve designs, calculations, evaluations, and mitigations, with experience in relief valve selection and scenario identification.
  • Review and utilize existing unit heat and material balance, process flow diagrams, and process and instrumentation diagrams to prepare process data sheets, equipment sizing, hydraulics line sizing, and supplemental diagrams for process systems.
  • Utilize computer-based technology for process simulation and equipment design to achieve process design work as required by the project scope.
  • Perform technical reviews of vendor offers and documentation specific to relief valves and relief devices.
  • Complete assigned design work within agreed budget and schedule.
  • Apply work process and quality policy to each project, documenting calculations and work processes in a clear, concise format.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience with Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer.
  • Specific experience with process safety valve sizing, relief system design, and auditing.
  • Knowledge of API 520 and 521 standards.
  • Knowledge of API 2000 standard.
  • At least 2 years of engineering experience with an operating or contract engineering company.
  • Preferably, at least one year of experience with relief valve calculations.
