General Services Technician

About the Position

This is a hands-on role that requires manual labor and physical activity. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including event support, refuse collection, snow removal, and routine pickups and deliveries. The position involves driving a truck and operating light construction equipment, such as backhoes and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive trucks up to 3-tons for hauling recycle/refuse, trash, personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Set up tables and chairs for scheduled events and perform general laboring tasks, such as traffic barricade placements and office moves assistance.
  • Operate tractors, forklifts, and other light equipment.
  • Unload and move materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • Inspect, schedule, and perform pressure-washing as needed.
  • Perform CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) or IWMS duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one to two (1-2) years of work experience is preferred, with experience in a related field or trade. The candidate must demonstrate ability to use a variety of small power tools and lighting equipment, operate trucks up to 3-tons, and have knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and practices used in the trade.

The candidate must also have a clean driving history (MVR) and possess a TX Class B Commercial Driver's License. Additionally, the candidate must have training and a license to operate light to medium-heavy trucks, forklifts, and moving equipment.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with varying temperatures and weather conditions. The position involves sitting for long periods, bending, crawling, squatting, and climbing, as well as carrying and lifting heavy objects.
