Nursing Restorative Care Aide Job Overview

The Nursing Restorative Care Aide is essential in delivering nursing restorative services aimed at improving the physical, mental, and emotional health of residents. This role involves assisting residents in sustaining or enhancing their overall wellness while preventing any deterioration, unless unavoidable. Duties include providing care as instructed by the Restorative Nurse or Director of Nursing (DON), adhering to all relevant regulations and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhances muscle strength and fosters independence among residents
  • Safely conducts range of motion exercises
  • Assists residents with mobility using appropriate aids
  • Helps with the application and removal of splints or prosthetic devices
  • Encourages residents to engage in independent activities
  • Maintains proper body alignment and positioning
  • Reports any concerning conditions to the DON
  • Monitors and supports Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Assesses and records resident progress
  • Communicates progress updates to the DON
  • Employs good body mechanics to avoid injuries
  • Collaborates with therapy professionals as needed
  • Participates in mandatory meetings and training sessions
  • Completes all assigned tasks

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Prior experience in a comparable position is preferred.

This position offers both Full Time and Part Time opportunities.
