POSITION SUMMARY


We are in search of a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to assist in the ongoing electrical engineering and sustainment initiatives for noise-reducing headsets, microphones, earplugs, and communication systems within our Situational Awareness Value Stream.

This position is crucial for maintaining and improving the electrical design and support for our products throughout their entire lifecycle.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth understanding of electrical engineering principles, including analog, digital, RF, and power electronic systems
  • Expertise in root cause analysis tools and methodologies for effective problem-solving
  • Experience with electrical schematic capture and PCB layout tools; familiarity with Cadence Orcad and Allegro is advantageous
  • Ability to interpret electrical component datasheets and collaborate with major component manufacturers
  • Background in manufacturing electro-mechanical assemblies; knowledge of electro-acoustic components is preferred
  • Familiarity with military qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 is a plus
  • Preferred experience in electrical test development, including MATLAB programming
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction at all organizational levels, both verbal and written.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the schematic capture and layout of electronic circuits (RF, power, digital, and analog) for legacy products, ensuring seamless transition from prototyping to manufacturing.
  • Create engineering packages for the production of printed circuit boards and system assemblies
  • Develop comprehensive system block diagrams and schematics to document support equipment utilized in manufacturing processes
  • Assist in field failure analysis and address quality issues through engineering solutions or product modifications
  • Formulate detailed test plans, coordinate testing/validation, and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Maintain an electrical component database to manage obsolescence and allocation challenges, proactively identifying alternative components
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues related to legacy product components
  • Contribute to cost estimation, cost reduction initiatives, and sustainment strategies across product lifecycles
  • Analyze and interpret test data using appropriate mathematical and statistical techniques, preparing technical reports and recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and technicians to execute electrical engineering tasks for product sustainment activities
  • Support the transition of products from design to manufacturing, ensuring producibility and maintainability
  • Provide regular updates on project status, highlighting any deviations from baseline projections
