Recreation Assistant

This position is located at the Destin Army Recreation Area, part of the Fort Moore Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) organization.

An intermittent employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis. This is an open continuous announcement with bi-weekly cutoffs, starting 02 Oct 24.

Responsibilities:

• Assists the Facilities Operations Team Leader in making specific assignments, explaining policies and procedures, and reviewing work for quantity and quality of completed projects.
• Opens and/or closes facilities by locking/unlocking doors and windows, and ensuring the security system is operable.
• Issues/receives recreational equipment to authorized users.
• Cleans recreation equipment, supplies, and facility area.
• Collects applicable fees for items issued, accounts for monies collected, safeguards funds, and makes daily bank deposits.
• Pre-checks and prepares equipment for customers, explains use, and monitors proper usage.
• Conducts surveillance of the total facility and reports any unusual findings to the supervisor.
• Arranges furniture and equipment for various types and sizes of events; puts up and takes down special event decorations.
• May assist in conducting events.
• Operates equipment and performs self-help maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Prepares work order for maintenance that cannot be completed by self-help.
• May be required to drive a motor vehicle as needed.

Conditions of Employment Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties described above.
• Must have and retain a valid driver's license.

Highly Preferred Criteria:

• Willing and able to work a rotating schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY)

Allowances and Differentials:

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure, and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay.

Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).

Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances:

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
