JOB SUMMARY
This role is accountable for the overall custodial maintenance of the facility and sanitation tasks within the warehouse under general oversight.
Responsibilities include executing all duties safely, accurately, and achieving established productivity targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct all cleaning activities throughout the facility, which encompasses dusting, sweeping, washing, wiping, scrubbing, shoveling, and mopping.
2. Climb ladders as necessary to fulfill these tasks.
3. Ensure sanitary conditions within the facility, including the daily collection and disposal of all trash or debris, and promptly addressing any spills.
4. Maintain cleanliness in coolers and cooler floors, as well as the dry warehouse, all aisles, and the equipment mezzanine.
5. Scrub floors in aisle areas of the dry warehouse, cooler zones, and docks.
6. Utilize power equipment for floor care in designated areas.
7. Regularly maintain parking lots and front sidewalks to uphold appearance standards.
8. Remove trash or hazardous materials (e.g., nails and glass).
9. Complete daily sanitation logs to document sanitation activities.
10. Assist with the stretch wrap and cardboard recycling program, including transporting materials to balers, bailing, and tying materials, and placing tied bales onto pallets for shipment.
11. Dust and vacuum warehouse racks and eliminate cobwebs from the warehouse area to maintain sanitary conditions.
12. Clean restrooms as needed, ensuring sanitary conditions are upheld.
13. Collaborate effectively with the immediate supervisor to minimize product loss.
14. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas and travel aisles.
15. Ensure the accuracy of warehouse product locations during slot cleaning.
16. Report any unresolvable or unsafe issues to the supervisor immediately.
17. Adhere to all safety regulations to minimize accidents and injuries.
18. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and orderly.
19. Ensure material handling equipment is inspected daily and maintained, reporting any repair needs to the supervisor.
20. Comply with all applicable company policies and state/federal laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 1-year warehouse-related experience and/or training.
Requirement: Must be 18 years of age and able to work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and speak effectively with co-workers in small group settings.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical Demand: Regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk and hear; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment: This position is full-time and may require varying schedules, including shift work, weekdays, weekends, and some holidays. The job is primarily performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to fast-moving material handling equipment and varying temperatures.
