Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and configuration tasks of AV/MM systems.
  • Assist users in accessing and utilizing AV/MM systems effectively.
  • Design diverse AV/MM solutions, including multi-level security VTC/PC systems, enterprise-level VTC and collaboration systems, conference rooms, digital signage, and streaming solutions.
  • Act as the equipment custodian, managing inventory and asset accountability.
  • Document hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate hardware installations across various locations.
  • Maintain and enhance the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Implement hardware and software configuration management processes, including creating product build scripts and integrating them with the build process.
  • Conduct analyses on AV/MM systems to ensure designs are cost-effective, integrable, and reliable.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure cohesive design and project completion.
  • Design, document, and develop code for programmable devices.
  • Analyze complex hardware systems, including design, architecture, and network issues.
  • Perform equipment testing and provide both preventative and remedial hardware maintenance support.
  • Deploy, install, and implement new AV/MM systems at client sites as required.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess requirements.
  • Streamline control system interfaces to enhance user experience.
  • Configure control systems, communication devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Develop cost proposals for project management.
  • Perform telecommunications punch block installation and maintenance for serial copper data paths.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and related documents.

Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance with client-level polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional AV/MM experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, totaling nine (9) years of experience.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Five (5) years of experience as an AV/MM Engineer across a minimum of seven (7) skill sets within the past seven (7) years, including:
  • Analog, SDI, and HD SDI signal processing and conversion.
  • Digital video filtering and scalable video coding.
  • Compression and decompression techniques.
  • Encoding and decoding of television standards such as ATSC, QAM, NTSC, PAL.
  • Signal theory and analysis.
  • Audio processing and sound reinforcement.
  • Knowledge of sightlines, screen size, and projection distances.
  • Experience with AES/EBU or AES3 digital audio interlace standards.
  • Cable termination (Fiber, copper, audio, etc.).
  • Set-up and maintenance of various HD/SD broadcast equipment.
  • Integration of audio and video teleconferencing systems.
  • Operation and maintenance of audio mixers.
  • Design and installation of audio support systems.
  • System integration and custom fabrication of parts and cables.
  • Installation of low voltage wiring and cable; soldering and termination of connectors.
  • Two (2) years of experience in VidCAD or other CAD programs within the past five (5) years.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Crestron programming within the last nine (9) years.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Programming of CRESTRON AV systems.
  • Configuration of Cisco VTC Systems (SX-20/SX-80/Mini Room Kit/Room Kit Pro).
  • Knowledge of security protocols: SSL, TLS, encryption.
  • Expertise in AV-over IP.
  • Certification as a Crestron Programmer, Crestron Technology Specialist (CTS), and/or CTS-Installation and/or CTS-Design training certification is preferred.
