Job Description

Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Software Validation Engineer, Chassis to join its Vehicle Software organization's Systems Validation Team. This team is responsible for validating all software-driven, system-level vehicle requirements prior to new hardware or software releases.

As a Systems Validation Engineer, you will be an expert in your domain, with a deep understanding of software/hardware dependencies in your system. You will ensure our products meet Tesla's high standards for safety and customer experience prior to release.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with system architects, hardware designers, and software developers to maintain an expert understanding of chassis and drive systems.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive system and sub-system level test specifications and test plans.
  • Invent methods and build tools to execute tests and evaluate results efficiently and repeatedly.
  • Develop prototype test setups to integrate new subsystems with simulated or actual vehicle components.
  • Investigate field issues through data analysis and issue reproduction.
  • Dig into data and source code to identify and debug issues and propose robust solutions.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical, Systems, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems involving networked microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices.
  • Experience with vehicle chassis control and torque production systems.
  • Experience with vehicle testing, racing, and/or at-limit driving.
  • Experience with CAN and Vector tools.
  • Experience analyzing and parsing data to develop technical insights and make decisions.

Expected Compensation:

$108,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
