This role is situated within the Environmental Management Services Division. The incumbent is responsible for executing a variety of janitorial and custodial tasks, including but not limited to:
- Managing textile distribution and inventory activities.
- Sanitizing and disinfecting various surfaces.
- Removing waste and cleaning windows, walls, and furniture.
Work is performed both manually and with the use of light and heavy powered equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The Custodial Services Specialist carries out a comprehensive range of cleaning activities in both patient and non-patient care areas, which include:
- Conducting floor maintenance and wall washing.
- Cleaning doors, doorframes, baseboards, and stairwells.
- Utilizing various cleaning methods such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Operating pressure washers and heavy industrial cleaning equipment.
- Performing minor maintenance on cleaning equipment and changing attachments as necessary.
- Emptying trash receptacles and replacing liners.
The specialist is also tasked with:
- Transporting refuse and regulated medical waste to designated collection areas.
- Ensuring restrooms and shower facilities are thoroughly cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Providing bed-making services in patient care areas.
Work Schedule
Shifts available include:
- Days: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, requiring three days during the week and weekends.
- Evenings: 3:30 PM, requiring three days during the week and weekends.
Physical Requirements
This position requires continuous walking, standing, and the ability to lift heavy equipment weighing over 50 pounds. The role demands dexterity, coordination, and visual acuity to effectively identify and address cleaning needs.
Qualifications
