Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst I to join our Corporate Accounting team at AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarter-end reports for management, including debt and equity roll-forwards and interest expense analytics.
  • Collaborate with other accounting groups to resolve issues related to out of balances and intercompany breaks.
  • Assist with quarterly debt covenant compliance testing and maintain standard operating procedure documents.
  • Provide support to other teams, such as External Reporting, Treasury, and Tax.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge and application of GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning Software (Oracle).
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS).
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, identify problems, and propose viable solutions.
  • Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
