About the Role

HTI LLC is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, as well as supporting design upgrades and updates to existing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new products and product updates/upgrades to existing equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers, suppliers, electrical engineers, manufacturing, and the service department to develop cost-effective solutions to design and manufacturing problems
  • Use 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, to create, modify, and maintain equipment design ideas
  • Create physical prototypes of designs and evaluate product safety, appearance, and function
  • Examine materials and manufacturing requirements to determine production costs and work with other specialists to evaluate design concepts
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, including NFPA and country-specific agency certification standards
  • Identify opportunities for design or process improvements and participate in the planning and execution of such opportunities
  • Implement and suggest creative solutions to reduce the cost of materials, components, and labor
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies
  • Assist with equipment hazard risk assessments and FMEA processes
