Job Summary

As an Electrophysiology Radiographer, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. You will work closely with cardiologists to perform procedures that result in accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart arrhythmias.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain radiographic, digital, processing, and viewing equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Assist in the operation of mapping systems and ablation generators.
  • Apply principles of radiation safety and protection.
  • Act as a first assistant during diagnostic EP studies, therapeutic ablation procedures, and surgical device implantations.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and products.
  • Review pre-procedural patient assessments to obtain adequate information and communicate pertinent data to MDs.
  • Assist in the education process of new employees, mentor students, and other healthcare professionals observing in the EP lab.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities in the EP lab, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of changes to ensure best practice.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate implantable device databases.

Requirements:

  • RT licensure in the state where work is being performed and registration as a RT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • CPR certification.
  • Two years of experience as an RT or one year as a Cath Lab tech/special procedure tech.
