Academic Faculty Position in Microbiology

**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking a highly qualified academic faculty member to join our team at the University of Minnesota Department of Microbiology and Immunology. As an Assistant or Associate Professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of teaching, training, and innovative research that impacts local and global public health.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop a prominent and innovative research program in bacteriology, with a focus on bacterial physiology and genomics, systems biology, human microbial ecology, bacteriophages, and bacterial-host interactions.
- Conduct cutting-edge research that complements the University's research strengths in host-pathogen interactions, immunity and host defense, virology, mycology, genomics, drug discovery, translational research, and clinical trials.
- Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to departmental service and outreach activities.
**Requirements**
- PhD, MD, or equivalent in a relevant field of study, plus applicable postdoctoral or faculty experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in bacteriology and a strong track record of research productivity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and external partners.
**What We Offer**
- A competitive salary range of $110,000 - $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
