Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to strategize, coordinate, and oversee the operations of the dietary and nutrition services department, ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations as directed by the management team.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties
  • Assist in the planning, development, and execution of the dietary services department and its various programs.
  • Hold administrative responsibility for supervising the dietary services team.
  • Prepare and present reports to the Registered Dietitian and/or management regarding departmental operations.
  • Support the creation and implementation of an organizational structure for the dietary services.
  • Address and document any complaints or grievances from staff, reporting actions taken to the Registered Dietitian and/or management.
  • Ensure the security of the facility's information systems.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee to develop corrective action plans for identified deficiencies.
  • Designate a qualified staff member to oversee operations in your absence.
  • Assist in creating personalized diet plans for residents.
  • Conduct interviews with residents or their families to gather dietary histories as needed.
  • Process dietary changes as communicated by nursing staff.
