WellStar Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiac Intervention and Electrophysiology. This position is full-time and operates on the Night Shift.
Unit Description:
The Blue 7 East unit is a 23-bed Progressive Care Unit focused on Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology, providing comprehensive cardiac care. The unit primarily caters to adult patients during the intermediate and acute phases of cardiac management. The patient demographic includes those recovering from PCI, high-risk PCI, staged PCI, pacemaker/AICD placements, Ablation procedures, TAVR procedures, heart failure exacerbations, and various cardiac arrhythmias.
Role Overview:
The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. The clinical environment is managed by Nurse Managers and supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, with practice guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplary Practice: Conduct the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver individualized clinical care based on evidence-based practices.
- Patient-Centered Care: Provide care that respects the unique characteristics of each patient, adapting service delivery to cultural diversity.
- Collaboration: Coordinate safe and quality patient care through effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional competency assessments and serve as a mentor for new nursing staff.
- Evidence-Based Practice: Advocate for and participate in nursing research and performance improvement initiatives.
- Resource Management: Plan for patient care across the continuum and collaborate with healthcare team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Less than one year of experience is required, with direct patient care experience preferred.
- Current RN license (Single State) and Multi-state Compact RN license are required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
