Cardiac Care Specialist

The Registered Nurse - General Cardiac position at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled nurse to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing thoracic surgery, cardiac telemetry, and other related procedures.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring that care is individualized.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others (as appropriate) using various methods for setting and purpose, such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just-in-time and planned patient teaching, and keeping patients and significant others updated, making patients' goals the focus of the plan of care.
- Practice using current clinical practice standards.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods, completion of timely documentation, and promotion of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible and promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate and support performance improvement, inclusive of all stakeholders, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care, including initiating and/or leading such activities as well as promoting an inter/intra-disciplinary process and actively supporting/participating in shared governance at all levels in the system.
- Associate's Degree in nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing.
- Reg Nurse (Single State) license upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire.
