Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Shelter Medicine team at Oregon Humane Society. In this role, you will work closely with our veterinary staff to provide high-quality care to animals in our shelter, including assisting with patient exams, providing daily medical care, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hospital facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist with patient exams and provide daily medical care to animals in our shelter
- Prepare patients for surgery and maintain the cleanliness and organization of our hospital facilities
- Collaborate with our veterinary staff to ensure high-quality care is provided to all animals in our shelter
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience working in a veterinary medicine center or animal shelter environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and remain calm in emergency situations
