Job Summary:

The Second Shift Shipping Supervisor at Prestage is responsible for overseeing the shipping operations during the evening shift, ensuring that all items are packed, prepared, and dispatched in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 8-12 employees to ensure orders are filled accurately and efficiently for poultry processing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by USDA, OSHA, DOT, and Homeland Security.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping area and dock.
  • Coordinate training programs to enhance team skills in safety, quality assurance, and logistics.
  • Monitor and approve attendance records and manage performance evaluations for shipping staff.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts with HR for open positions within the shipping department.
  • Facilitate accurate and complete shipping documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping and inventory discrepancies efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or equivalent logistics experience (required).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role within a food manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred).
  • Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
    • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial shipping environment.
    • Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes (required).
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop for prolonged periods.
    • Willingness to work in variable temperature conditions, ranging from 35-40 degrees to 100 degrees.
