Job Description:

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities related to incoming shipments. This includes overseeing and supervising warehouse employees to ensure all items are picked, packed, and shipped accurately. The supervisor will act as a liaison between workers and management, reporting on shipping activities.

This position requires someone who is professional, has a positive attitude, and can prioritize and multitask effectively.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure it has been performed properly.
  • Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
  • Examine freight to determine loading sequences.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in sales orders.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Transmit and explain picking orders to laborers.
  • Inspect equipment (Forklifts and Wrappers) for wear and conformance to specifications.
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics, such as safety huddles.
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
  • Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.
  • Resolve personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures.
  • Participate in the hiring process by reviewing credentials, conducting interviews, or making hiring decisions or recommendations.
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
  • Inventory supplies and requisition or purchase additional items, as necessary.
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, or career development.
  • Provide assistance in balancing books, tracking, monitoring, or projecting a unit's budget needs and in developing unit policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree desired.
  • Experience in a shipping supervisory role preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in written and verbal communication, good leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and self-directed.
  • Must be willing to work as a team.
  • Must possess time management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Resources Planning Software.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft AX ERP a plus.
Estimated Salary:

$85,000 - $110,000 per year.
