Medicaid Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary:

The Onsite Medicaid Eligibility Representative will be responsible for identifying uninsured patients, screening and interviewing patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid and charity programs, and completing applications for benefits. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review hospital work queues to identify uninsured patients
• Screen and interview patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid and charity programs
• Complete applications for Medicaid benefits and charity programs as needed
• Maintain a positive working relationship with hospital staff and patients
• Abide by HIPAA rules and regulations to protect patient privacy
• Meet production goals and objectives as assigned by hospital and management

Requirements:

• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to multitask and type 40 WPM
• Reliable transportation required
• Good attendance and dependability essential
• Successful completion of drug and background test required
