Position Overview: The Wine Associate plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to our customers, assisting them in selecting wines that suit their preferences and needs. This position requires a deep understanding of our featured products, wine pairings, regions, and pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize extensive wine knowledge to sell priority items effectively.
- Welcome and engage customers warmly, assisting them with their selections and inquiries.
- Stay informed about products promoted through our online platforms and advertising.
- Encourage signups for loyalty programs and monthly wine selections.
- Accurately assess and fulfill party orders.
- Participate in tastings and stay updated on wine industry trends.
- Provide guidance on food and wine pairings.
- Assist in creating gift baskets and promoting gourmet items.
- Maintain organized and well-stocked displays, ensuring cleanliness and order.
- Manage signage and shelf tags effectively.
- Monitor and manage inventory, especially with new vintages.
- Conduct consumer tastings, adhering to established protocols.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in wine sales.
- Established local client relationships.
- Energetic, organized, and self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Ability to build relationships through community engagement.
Work Environment: This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
