The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team, contributing to the health management of patients. This position performs various patient care activities and accommodative services for Clinic patients, often in assistance to section physicians and under the direction of the Practice Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical procedures and maintain primary responsibility for the operation and care of the nursing unit in the department.
- Assist section physicians and provide support to patients, maintaining a high level of organization and communication skills.
- Ensure accurate and efficient data entry, utilizing computer skills and typing abilities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Formal training in medical assisting, preferably with certification from an accredited program.
- Medical terminology knowledge and typing skills at 55 wpm or higher.
- Experience with computers and data entry, as well as current CPR certification.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Certified Medical Assistant must be able to move, traverse, and position themselves for up to eight hours per day. They must also be able to lift, move, and transport patients, equipment, and supplies, with motor coordination and manual dexterity.
