SUMMARY

Qorvo is on the lookout for an EDA Applications Engineer who will take charge of defining, developing, and standardizing design processes for RF module products. The selected candidate will engage in the design and development of circuit design and simulation processes, meticulously documenting these flows and providing training to the design community.

The role involves creating innovative RF module simulations utilizing circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, and Cadence. The engineer will support circuit designs leveraging semiconductor technologies including SOI, CMOS, and III-V, along with module design. Collaboration with modeling teams, EDA tool vendors, and the evaluation of EDA tools will also be key responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhance and refine circuit design processes while reporting on RF Module outcomes.
  • Establish, document, and communicate simulation standards essential for electrical verification.
  • Collaborate with a team of Design Applications engineers dedicated to supporting both internal and external design tools.
  • Assist Qorvo designers in creating RF Module simulations by applying Qorvo best practices.
  • Develop and validate optimal practices for simulating RF Modules, including Power Amplifiers, SOI switches, and Low Noise Amplifiers.
  • Leverage high-performance computing resources to advance circuit simulation methodologies.
  • Identify and benchmark new EDA tools and platforms, pinpointing gaps and areas for enhancement.
  • Guide the automation of design flows and tailor design tools to boost productivity.
  • Produce documentation and deliver simulation flow training to design engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MSEE or BSEE with over 5 years of experience in analog or RF circuits.
  • Recent graduates will be considered if they possess relevant internship experience in analog or RF circuits.
  • Familiarity with high-performance RFIC, MMIC, and module design processes.
  • Proficient in major electronic design automation (EDA) software platforms (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, Cadence/AWR Microwave Office, Ansys HFSS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively collaborate in a diverse, cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS simulations.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as ADS, AWR, Linux, Unix, Perl, or Python.
  • Background in Product Management, including defining requirements and fostering adoption.
